When asphalt shingles have certain minerals in the mix, the photocatalytic process naturally kicks in and removes smog and pollutants from the air. Essentially every building with these could work to drastically reduce air pollution across the globe. Created by 3M™ in 2018 this discovery has proven that each ton of these granules can remove the smog created by a vehicle that has driven 3,000 miles. Frankly, the innovation is mind-blowing.
